2024 Season Begins!

Mar 24, 2024 | 0 comments

Thorpe Park is open for the 2024, which promises to be one of the biggest and hopefully best yet.

2024 sees Thorpe Park celebrate its 45th birthday, and there’s plenty in store for this season.

New for 2024 is Big Easy Boulevard. This retheme of Angry Birds Lands has completely refreshed the central park area, themed around New Orleans and Mardi Gras. Detonator now has a much more fitting theme, around a fireworks factory. The Dodgems, now named Big Easy Bumpers, fits really nicely as a gas station. The 4D cinema, rethemed into the Sunset Cinema, looks great from the outside and has opened up the area further. The current choice of film – Ready Player One – is a bit of an odd choice, but it seems like there will be opportunities to refresh / add more films on a regular basis, which would be a change of pace from the park with their 4D films.

On top of that, the park has seen many refreshes, thanks to their Sparkle Project. This has seen Stealth revitalised, with new paintwork on building and the entrance, Colossus receive a fresh lick of paint and the Lost City flat rides refreshed. Samurai is due to be repainted, although this hasn’t been completed yet. Toilets across the park have been revitalised, with new sinks and hand driers across all toilets, along with a new look inside the Amity and Big Easy Boulevard toilets. A lot of work has gone into the park this winter, and it’s clear to see that this has been the busiest closed season ever
