Hyperia Reopens
The UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster reopens at Thorpe Park!
Following a closure due to one of the trains valleying, Hyperia reopened this weekend, just in time for the park to celebrate “Golden Day”.
The valleyed train had to be dismantled and transported to the maintenance bay for the ride, where it received a thorough inspection. As the train valleyed whilst testing, and empty, the park also reviewed their testing policy for the ride, meaning the ride is perfectly safe to run.
On the 23rd June, the park celebrated what they coined as “Golden Day”, because the date (23/6) is also the same record-breaking height of the ride. The park encouraged guests to visit whilst dressed in gold, giving out certificates to those who did, and also giving the best-dressed access to the first train of the day. Coincidentally, this was the first day the ride operated on two trains since the ride valleyed. And, more fortunately, the British weather delivered, with glorious sunshine beaming down all day!
