2019 Season Ends
Thorpe Park Resort has closed its gates for the last time in 2019 as the season has now come to an end.
Whilst we saw no new rides at the resort for the 2019 season it’s been an action packed year at the resort, which celebrated its 40th anniversary, events kicked off back in April with the launch of GameFX, bringing a gaming convention to the island for the first time, giving you a chance to try out some of the latest games on the market along with a selection of retro titles.
Jungle Escape, the resorts new escape room experience opened in May 2019, this paid for experience set you head to head with an opposing team as you battle to escape the huntsman.
Just in time for the summer we saw the launch of Bouncezilla, the obstacle course that bites back! This 90m inflatable obstacle course was a fun for all the family attraction with tunnels, slides and more, and reserved for the hotter days of the summer staff positioned with water guns keeping you hydrated throughout!
Finally, as is tradition the season ended with Fright Nights, this year we saw the launch of what was dubbed the resorts most intense horror maze to date, Creek Freak Massacre. Housed in the old Loggers Leap station, themed around a saw mill filled with freaks armed with chainsaws, Creek Freak Massacre certainly delivered and was a great addition to the Fright Nights line up. Over at Amity we saw the addition of a new show Terror at Amity High – High School Sucks, headlining a choreographed dance routine, when not performing the vampires roamed the area seeking their next victims.
Whilst we wait for news of what’s in store for 2020, Thorpe Park have dropped their traditional end of season video, with what could possibly be the first hints at what’s to come in 2020 with a futuristic take on the resorts infinity logo, followed by the text “Initialising 2020”.
