Thorpe Park has been nominated 19 times at this year’s UK Theme Park Awards.

The UK Theme Park Awards have been running for several years now, growing in popularity, stature and meaning. This year, Thorpe Park have been nominated 19 times for 13 different awards. This means that, for some awards, the park have been nominated more than once! 

The nominations the park have received are:

• Best New Attraction: Hyperia
• Best Reimagined Attraction: Big Easy Boulevard
• Best Theme Park for Families
• Best Theme Park for Thrills
• Best Ride Storytelling: The Walking Dead: The Ride
• Best Accessibility Initiative: Accessibility Day Planner and Sensory Guide
• Best New Entertainment: Legend of Hyperia – Flight to Fearless and Stitches
• Best Theme Park Map
• Best New Food or Retail Outlet: Boulevard Bites, Cloud Nine Treats, Hyporium, and Spice Kitchen
• Most Missed Attraction From The Past: Loggers Leap
• Best Social Media Content
• Best Marketing Campaign: Big Easy Boulevard and Hyperia

This is a real testament to the park’s ongoing effort for improvement, especially over the last year with their Sparkle Project. It’s also telling that they have been nominated multiple times for certain awards, highlighting that they have been making great improvements in several areas. Their accessibility initiatives and new food and retail outlets in particular have been great to see, and it’s wonderful to see the park recognised for their efforts in these areas which are usually not noticed as much.
