What songs could appear in DeadBeat?

With a story based around a nightclub, DeadBeat will feature takes on mainstream songs, but what ones?

Little is known about what lies within Thorpe Park’s new for 2024 Fright Nights maze, DeadBeat. However, one thing that we do know is that the soundtrack for the maze will feature remixes of popular and mainstream songs, bringing a nightclub / disco feel to parts of the attraction. These will likely have a dark / horror feel to them.

Whilst the park haven’t confirmed anything, the park have heavily hinted at several songs which may appear. In the fuller version of the written up story for the maze, there’s many lyrics or song names which appear. Take a look below…

“It’s two minutes to midnight, and the clock is ticking. Will you surrender willingly or dance the night away, embracing what may well be your final night on earth? But beware this is no ordinary venue—here, the music doesn’t soothe the soul; it devours it.

Chained to the rhythm, you’ll be ensnared by the hypnotic sound of the underground, as blinding lights draw you deeper into the pulsating abyss. With every heartbeat and every breath you take, the demonic forces close in, feeding on your soul.

As the beat drops, you might try to break free—but there’s no escape. The creatures of the night are everywhere, lurking in the shadows, watching, waiting, and feasting. This is no bittersweet symphony; it’s a relentless spectacle of terror! DeadBeat promises a night you’ll never forget—and for some, it’ll be murder on the dancefloor.”

The songs we’ve seen hints for:

  • 2 Minutes to Midnight – Iron Maiden
  • Dance the Night Away – Van Halen / The Mavericks
    • or Dance the Night – Dua Lipa
  • Chained to the Rhythm – Katy Perry
  • Sound of the Underground – Girls Aloud
  • Blinding Lights – The Weeknd
  • Every Breath You Take – The Police
  • Break Free – Ariana Grande
    • or I Want to Break Free – Queen
  • Bittersweet Symphony – The Verve
  • Murder on the Dancefloor – Sophie Ellis-Bextor

On top of that, there’s also extended audio pieces which are potentially also being hinted at:

  • The Clock is Ticking – The Next Step
  • Pulsating Abyss – Existential Void

There could also be more that we have missed! These songs aren’t what you would typically describe as dark or horror songs, however, remixed in the right way, they certainly could work nicely as a background soundtrack for the maze, especially in a nightclub environment. Equally, there may be many more songs included, or these are just general hints to artists that will be used.

DeadBeat was given a codename of Project Sophie, which many thought related to Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder on the Dancefloor. However, it has been confirmed via Jack Silkstone that whilst this is certainly a link, this was not the original reasoning for the project title of the maze. If and when the real reason is revealed, we’ll let you know!
