Visit the SuperSpark Cinema, an old cinema with a reputation showcasing classic horror films. But there’s a problem – power surges bring the films to life – from demonic monsters to killer clowns, you find yourself stuck in a never-ending loop with no escape!

Trailers opened during the 20th anniversary of Fright Nights, and was very much a homage to previous attractions, and a love letter to fans. The maze takes you into eight cinema screens, each of which is based off previous Fright Nights attractions. This gives the opportunity for a variety of different themes, set pieces, costumes and scares throughout.

Being packed full of references to the past could have meant sacrificing the experience of the attraction. Whilst in its first year, the pre-show script was a bit stilted as a result of cramming in references, the maze itself works well with no knowledge to the old attractions. The cinema setting suits the idea, and the mix up of themes and characters creates a refreshing atmosphere throughout.

Trailers was never designed to be the scariest maze in the park. It is, of course, still a scare maze designed to be scary. But it has a mix of jump scares, humour and atmosphere to create an experience which works well on multiple levels.

The finale is where the main scares are built up, with characters from multiple different films all having ‘escaped’ their screens and running riot in the projection room. This will be different each time, with different characters, meaning a slightly different ending is possible. But one thing stays the same: the use of pyrotechniques, something never before done in a Fright Nights maze!

All in, Trailers is a humourous scare maze, filled with Easter Eggs to homage the past and give a firm nod to enthusiasts, whilst remaining fun and scary for everyone!
