Today, Thorpe Park announced that a "train refurbishment program" is currently taking place on Derren Brown's Ghost Train. This is linked in with the new "terrifying" destination for 2017.
In a themed video posted by the resort, the CEO of the DBGT Company Drew Bronner (an anagram of Derren Brown!) explains that following feedback, the overall experience will be made "deeper, darker and more intense". The video reassures that a viral outbreak is nothing to worry about, the train service will be back on schedule - a reference to the ride's story about fracking.
The video ends with the curious statement of "ALL CHANGE", and the name and logo - 'Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon'. It is currently unclear whether this is a new name, or just a slogan to go with the existing name.
At this stage, we do not know exactly what is happening. However, we do know that the building is being extended slightly to make the shop slightly larger. Thorpe Park also recently posted a new promotional poster for the attraction, which showed a demonic hand grabbing the Victorian hanging carriage as seen in previous artwork.
